Comic book The Lurker
The fates sealed into a tomb, human energies amoeba, millions of lives every day, good and evil buried in the bowels of the worm…
Sexy, contemporary, mysterious, subtle and also chilling - these could be attributes of the original czech comic book for adults The Lurker.
Extravagant author of bestsellers Sylva Lauerová joined forces with cartoonist Jiří Carda and thank to this cooperation you can see modern adaptation of a novel which is thanks to its concept open to all generations.
The Lurker offers a completely new type of a superhero, different one from what we know from the popular Marvel comic books. Attractiveness of the mystical tale is enhanced by the magical atmosphere of Prague, wild anonymous metropolis, where the subway is the most popular mean of transport and the axis where meets fates of its inhabitants. The fates of those who do not yet know what will bring them a single brief encounter "face to face" with a strange, taciturn and repellent man. Fates which connects only one thing - the presence of silent pitching steps of someone without a past. The comic book The Lurker is inspired by the intimate thriller of the same name, released in 2012.
The main story line is kept for everyday images of human lives - immature and unhappy Aneta, lovestruck of ambitious businessman Pavel, dominant and emotionally stale gallerist Sonja and two older women. Lauerová kept her vivid and authentic literary style in her novel draft, but enriched it with a new slow and obscure poetic tone, which gave the novel Tichošlap completely personal touch. The book was nominated in the broader contest finals in the competition Czech book award 2013.
